Required Vaccinations

For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, proof of up-to-date vaccinations is required prior to check-in. We require documentation showing that your dog is current on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies

  • DHPPi (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

  • Leptospirosis

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough / Tracheobronchitis)

All vaccination records must be submitted via your client portal or by email to ashley@rockymountaincanine.ca at least 48 hours before your dog’s arrival.

Please ensure that vaccines are administered at least 7 days prior to boarding to allow for full protection.

Dogs without valid vaccination records may be denied entry for the safety of our guests.. 

* We do highly recommend flea & tick, its not required but recommended. Please talk to your vet.

Our Facility

  • Welcome to Rocky Mountain Canine, a private, peaceful haven nestled on 30 elk-fenced acres in beautiful Yahk, BC. Our unique location is designed with your dog’s adventure and comfort in mind. With six scenic trails ranging from gentle strolls to more challenging uphill climbs, we offer something for dogs of all ages and athletic abilities.

    In addition to our mountain hikes, we have multiple fully fenced yards for off-leash play and downtime. These areas are equipped with water misters, dog pools, and shaded shelters to help pups stay cool and comfortable on hot days.

    As a newly opened facility, we’re excited to keep growing! We’ll be adding even more features throughout the summer to make your dog’s stay even better.

  • At Rocky Mountain Canine, our kennels are anything but ordinary. We’ve designed each one to prioritize comfort, privacy, and peace of mind for our four-legged guests. You won’t find chain link here—our custom-built kennels are fully enclosed with walls that reach the ceiling and are housed in three separate soundproof rooms to reduce stress and create a calming environment.

    Room One features our spacious double kennel—perfect for bonded pairs—while Rooms Two and Three each contain three thoughtfully designed kennels. Every room is equipped with its own dedicated heating and air conditioning system, ensuring a perfectly controlled climate year-round. Soft music plays in the background to help create a relaxing atmosphere.

    Each kennel also includes a private outdoor run, shaded and secure, so dogs can enjoy fresh mountain air—even on the hottest days. Our layout makes daily cleaning easy and hygienic, while still offering a luxury-level experience for your dog’s stay.

Our small, boutique setup—with just 7 custom-built kennels across 3 separate rooms—ensures that each dog has their own quiet, secure space. With no chain link, no shared yard, and no pack-style yard time, your dog’s comfort and safety are always our top priority.

    We do not mix client dogs—there are no unpredictable group walks or chaotic playtimes here. Instead, we offer structured, one-on-one hikes, solo yard time with plenty of enrichment, and calm relaxation in our shaded outdoor spaces.

    For dogs who love socializing, we do have our own friendly pack of 4 well-trained dogs who are available for supervised play, if requested.

    Because we keep our numbers low—a maximum of 8 dogs at any time—every guest receives the time, attention, and personalized experience they deserve. Every dog gets at least 3 long hikes a day, off leash or on, along with yard play time.

    We're not just a kennel; we're a purpose-built canine retreat designed to provide adventure, rest, and safety in equal measure.

📍 Full Kennel and Run Tour – Get a firsthand look at our spacious indoor kennels and secure outdoor runs, designed for comfort and safety.

🌲 Property Tour – Explore our beautiful property. Choose from a guided hike on one of our scenic trails with your pup, or, if you prefer a more relaxed option, hop in our side-by-side for a ride to the top, where you'll enjoy breathtaking views.

🐕 Bring Your Dog(s) – We’d love to meet your furry family members and give them a chance to explore and interact with us.

🕔 Personalized Time – Our Meet & Greets usually last about 45 minutes because we want to take the time to answer all your questions, get to know your dog, and make sure everyone feels comfortable.

🗓 By Appointment Only – So we don’t disrupt the dogs, we host meet & greets 7 days a week from 11am-1pm PST or 4pm-6-pm PST during their feeding schedules only.

 Got Questions?

  • Pick-up and drop-off is available daily between 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Please provide at least 60 minutes’ notice before arriving. by email or text.

  • You will just need to bring your dog’s food, any medications, collar/leash and anything else that makes them feel at home ( bed, toy etc.)

  • We require proof of up-to-date Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough), leptospirosis,vaccines along with Flea/tick prevention. We also require your vets contact information.

  • Yes! We specialize in caring for dogs that may be nervous, reactive, or need extra attention. Our kennel design allows for separate rooms and customized play groups based on temperament. Every dog is safe at Rocky Mountain Canine.

  • We only board up to 8 dogs at a time to ensure personalized care and attention for each guest.

  • Absolutely! Dogs enjoy daily off-leash adventures on 6 private trails, playtime in multiple fenced yards, and tons of love and enrichment throughout the day.

  • Yes! We send daily photo or video updates, and each dog wears a tracker (tractive) so you can see how much fun they’re having !!

  • Yes – our luxury kennels are climate-controlled year-round to keep your dog comfortable no matter the season.

  • Yes, we offer discounts for families boarding more than one dog. Please contact us directly for a custom quote.

  • We ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a fee. However, we understand life happens so we try to avoid any cancellation fees if we can!

  • Yes, we offer limited doggy daycare spots for $40/day. Dogs enjoy the same level of attention and fun as our overnight guests.

  • We’re located on 30 private acres between Cranbrook and Creston, BC—just far enough for peace and quiet, but close enough for convenience.

  • No, we are not trainers, however we highly recommend Chris Urban at K9 Basecamp in Cranbrook to inquire about his board & train program. (phone: 1-250-581-5004)

  • Overnight Boarding – $58/night
    Includes a luxury kennel with 12-ft indoor/outdoor run, daily photo/video updates, a dog wash at the end of their stay, and tons of love, play, and adventure.
    Pick-up and drop-off available between 7am–8pm (please give 60 minutes’ notice before arrival).

    Long-Term Boarding – $49/night
    For stays of 5 nights or more.
    Includes everything in the standard boarding package, at a discounted rate for extended stays.

    Doggy Daycare – $40/day
    Limited availability, but maximum fun!
    Dogs enjoy a full day of off-leash adventures, playtime, and enrichment in our fenced yards and trails.

  • Yes, we absolutely accommodate raw diets! 🥩🐾
    At Rocky Mountain Canine, we understand the importance of sticking to your pup’s regular routine—including their diet. We have a dedicated fridge and freezer room to safely store raw food, ensuring it stays fresh and completely separate from other food to prevent any cross-contamination. Just bring their meals clearly labeled, and we’ll handle the rest with care!
