Meet Tyler & Ashley – Founders of Rocky Mountain Canine 🐾
Hi there! We’re Tyler and Ashley, proud dog parents, adventure seekers, and the heart behind Rocky Mountain Canine.
Our journey began with fostering rescue dogs, and like many dog lovers know—sometimes you just can’t say goodbye. Three foster fails later, we had our very own little pack (whom you will love just as much as we do!) and a deep understanding of just how life-changing the bond between human and dog can be. Prior to our pack, we were foster parents to those in need via Meant2Be Loved and Leslie Long Pet Rescue, we were happy to play a part in helping other dogs find their furever homes.
Over the past year, we’ve had the joy of caring for and learning from all types of dogs—each with their own personality, quirks, and needs. That experience, along with hands-on training from Chris Urban at K9 Basecamp in Cranbrook, helped us grow our knowledge and confidence in canine care, behavior, and training. We’re endlessly grateful for the guidance and mentorship that helped shape who we are as dog owners and professionals.
We are proud to be Canine CPR certified and fully committed to safety, compassion, and tail-wagging fun. At Rocky Mountain Canine, we’ve created an environment where every dog can feel secure, relaxed, and—most importantly—have an amazing time. Whether they’re here for a weekend stay or a day of adventure, our camp is designed with love, care, and a whole lot of dog hair.
Our mission is simple: to provide a safe, joyful space where dogs can be dogs, and their humans can rest easy knowing they’re in good hands.

Building a Dog’s Dream Retreat
- Our Construction Story –
When we moved here in February 2025, we got straight to work transforming what was once a horse property into every dog’s dream retreat. From the start, our vision was clear — to create a boarding experience that went far beyond traditional kennels or dog-park play.
We built seven spacious kennels, each featuring wood flooring, private outdoor runs, individual heating and cooling systems, and even soothing music to make every pup feel at home.
Our 30-acre property is fully elk-fenced and secured with locked gates, ensuring every dog can roam, explore, and play safely.
Most importantly, we wanted dogs to feel like they’re at home — comfortable, relaxed, and cared for just as they would be with their family.
But our real goal was to build something different — a place focused on adventure, exploration, and connection with nature. We wanted dogs to run free, breathe the mountain air, hike the trails, splash in the creek, and simply be dogs.
